Darren brings 33 years’ experience working in the roofing industry, having started back in 1987 as a cost estimator and working his way up to senior estimator / commercial manager roles.

So let’s hear from the man himself:

My Background:

I first started in the roofing industry as a cost controller for Ruberoid contracts in 1987 and progressed through the company as buyer, assistant QS and finally as an estimator.

During this time I gained experience of all flat roofing systems and metal roofing and cladding. I have worked in the roofing and cladding sector as a Senior Estimator/Commercial Manager for a number of major envelope contractors in the North West and North East during my 33 years in the industry.

Why I joined Group Tegula

I was impressed with the positive energy of the people involved and the feeling of team spirit and their plans for future growth. Group Tegula has a good reputation within the supply chain and the feedback I received on the Company was all positive and that was reinforced when I first met with them.

I believe with my experience in the industry and contacts coupled with the expertise and ambition of all at Group Tegula we can work well together to achieve a sustained growth and add further to the reputation of the Company and look forward to a successful future.

What I will be doing

My role will be to take an enquiry from initial receipt, to produce the quotation and to oversee the project until successful completion and final account settlement.

My duties will include pricing tenders, placing material orders, ensuring budgets and programme are adhered to and the client receives a professional project and ensure client retention for future projects.

I will also assist in passing on my knowledge to others in the team, to suggest any alternatives that can increase the productivity/profitability of the Group.
