As eye-catching as they can be, aerial shots were historically a luxury for those who had the budget to take to the air, but now, with drone technology so readily available, getting those aerial shots no longer requires deep pockets.
And we don’t limit their use to capturing pictures of our finished work, we also employ them to carry out roofing surveys. Surveys that can be completed at a much-reduced cost, compared to actually getting up there, and all the work involved in doing that safely.
We’ve recently completed a project for Sunderland City Council at their Leechmere Industrial Estate, works that included:
- Refurbishment of 13 roofs, including:
- Insulation and new Bauder felt systems to 11 roofs.
- Single ply Bauder system to 2 roofs.
- Replacement of 6 rooflights.
- Refitting of the AC units, which included updating the power supplies, some of the AC pipework, and cabling that had perished.
- Installation of a new safety handrail to support future maintenance works (gutter cleaning and roof light maintenance).
- Installation of bird netting to all 13 roofs (to prevent nesting).
The project was completed over a 6-month period, and we’re quite proud of the results.
