Group Tegula completed a re-roofing project for Northumbrian Water to solve a long-term roofing problem at their treatment plant in Howdon.
The project included the re-roofing of both the scientific laboratory and plant rooms over a 10 weeks period.
One of the greatest challenges one site was ensuring there was no damage to the highly sensitive and expensive equipment in the laboratory. To overcome this, we constructed a bespoke mono pitched scaffolding platform, that would eliminate any chance of water ingress during the stripping and rebuilding of the roof.
The project was completed on time and to budget, and our client praised our work, especially our attention to detail around the various plant installed on the roof (extraction fans, ducting).
The new roof was supplied with a 20-year Guarantee.
