Group Tegula are proud to support the NHS’ Rainbow Garden Project.
The gardens have been created to provide break-away, well-being areas for Patients, Visitors & Staff to use as a getaway space from the Hospital setting, to chill out & relax.
Having recently completed work at the University Hospital of Hartlepool, Group Tegula were asked if they wanted to support their rainbow garden project and we were all too happy to oblige.
Group Tegula have donated a bench for the garden, but what’s really exciting is that all of the furniture being used in the project is manufactured from 100% recycled materials. Indeed, the 3-seat bench funded by Group Tegula was made up of approximately 1573 used 2-litre pint milk containers (keeping them out of landfill).
What’s even more impressive is that the benches don’t require any staining or varnishing, they’re guaranteed for 25 years, and with no maintenance required (they will not rot, corrode, or splinter), they’re great for sustainability.
The garden opened in July of this year and was supported by donations of flowers, hanging baskets, benches, ornaments, and much more, by local suppliers.
It’s proving very popular with patients and staff alike, and it’s also been used for a number of events including a 4th of July BBQ.
