Group Tegula are pleased to announce that we have added Tim North to our team as Estimator / Contracts Manager.

So let’s hear from the man himself:

My Background:

I started off as a bench joiner producing bespoke windows, doors, garden furniture, and stairs, but I had always had the ambition to serve in the Armed forces, so joined the Army.

I served 5 years in the army as Royal Engineers (RE) with a trade of carpenter and joiner. Throughout my Army career, I served on multiple deployments to the Falkland Islands on one of the biggest construction projects undertaken by the RE. My roles whilst on deployment were mainly Scaffolding supervision and management however other roles that I undertook were steel erection, window, and door fitting as well as cladding and Visqueen taking systems.

Although I enjoyed my time in the army I wanted to develop a career more involved in construction so I left the army in 2019 and went into domestic construction working as an Assistant Site Manager/estimator as well as project administration. Here I further developed my knowledge in the construction industry as we covered a vast range of bespoke projects from small extensions to complex new builds.

Why I joined Group Tegula

The opportunity to work for Group Tegula means I can focus on one aspect of the construction industry. It also gives me a chance to learn, develop my knowledge, and gain qualifications within the construction industry as well as being able to put to use the skills, qualifications, and experience I have acquired over the years.

What I will be doing

I have been employed as Estimator/Contracts Manager. I will be submitting quotations for roofing projects ranging in size from small repairs to larger projects.

I will be involved in projects at all stages from initial enquiry through to completion including the procurement of materials and the management of site staff and client liaison.
