At Group Tegula we continually strive to develop our business, not only in terms of what we do, but also how we do it.

Indeed we have invested heavily over the last 12 months in a range of initiatives that will help us deliver the very best service to our customers.

It was quite an ambitious project, and included the following goals:

  • “Lead the Way” – to develop the right leadership skills to manage a growing workforce
  • “Find a Better Way” – to coach employees to question and improve the way that they work and develop a culture of continuous improvement
  • Improve the Purchasing, Storage and Management of Materials, to free up working capital, because cash is king!

In order to achieve this we had to include a variety classes and workshops for management, supervisors and our fitters.

These included factory simulations so we could learn how different approaches could affect the end results, identifying what could help and what might be holding us back

Workshops focussed on, project management and change management, so we could deliver our solutions as effectively as possible as well as better managing any issues that might arise once on site.

Individual support and mentoring to help our staff be the best they can be.

Andrew Nicholson of Nicholson Consultancy (Newton Aycliffe), provided the training in a way that minimised any disruption to our day-to-day activities; spitting our workforce into groups and running sessions at times that would have the least impact, including Saturday mornings.

“Andrew was great to work with, he managed the training sessions around our work commitments and tailored it to our requirements. After the training all our employees took part in ideas for improvement workshops which the company has gone on to implement.”

And the effort has definitely paid off with nothing but positive feedback from our clients.
