Group Tegula is thrilled to introduce our newest team member, Runyararo Madzivadondo, who has joined us as a Trainee Contracts Manager.
Let’s hear from Runyararo as he shares his background, the reasons behind his decision to join Group Tegula, and the role he will be undertaking:
About Me:
I started off as a technical assistant for house builder, where I would support the technical team and see new build projects go from initial planning stage to completion. This whole process is what made me really passionate about construction.
Shortly after completing a HNC in Building Studies, I went on to work for a steel manufacturer exploring a new part of construction and looking at the commercial and industrial side. As a Production Planner I would allocate steel sections and plan the most efficient way to cut, handle and deliver steel sections to site for them to be erected. While in this role I developed problem solving skills and the ability to take initiative and to work well under pressure.
From there I took on the role of trainee assistant site manager for a house builder. Working with the site support team. I would ensure that the site ran smoothly and things went accordingly. This is where I built my people skills. Liaising with contractors, suppliers and site operatives allowed me to build relationships and relate to different types of people.
Why I Joined Group Tegula:
Group Tegula is committed to investing in the future of the roofing industry. I leaped at the chance when I got the opportunity to join the team and to follow a well guided career path with support from experienced colleagues.
What I Will Be Doing:
I have been employed as a Trainee Contracts Manager. While gaining experience and building confidence I will be exposed to various projects at all stages, from the initial enquiry through to completion.
My role will involve the procurement of materials and the management of site staff and client liaison.
